We started the day at the Animal management unit in Hadlow, which is a little distance from the main building. There were two groups that were dropped off here, while the others went elsewhere. We were escorted around by a teacher at the college, who showed us some of the different animals, in and outside. My group focused on getting content of a lot of different animals. The other filmed students handling the animals, and their reactions to what they are doing. We did this to collect as much footage as possible in the time we were there. I was also confident that there would be usable footage from both groups because the people in the group are very capable. We started in the reptile area, looking at snakes and lizards, which is very different to a lot of the animals that we have filmed so far.
We then progressed to outside where we saw some of the other animals that they look after. We were trying to get a good representation of the college, so collect as much content as possible. We also got a lot of shots of establishing shots to show the college off to the audience. These will be very important for the video, as there will be limited footage of the animals as the area is so small.
We were picked up and taken to the main Hadlow buildings with the rest of the people filming. We had arranged to film a theory lesson, so that we had a different perspective of this very practical based college. We planned to get close-ups of the students and their work to include and give a different perspective of a lot of what the college do. We got shots of their classroom and a horse that they were labeling up. I also filmed some of the students riding and leading horses around a huge field, there is plenty of footage of this, as there were several groups filming.
There were so many groups there because Hadlow is such a big college and their video will need to be longer than some of the others.
